Oklahoman, K. Joy Keast's Jun 26 letter, "Better Late Than Never", to the Clarion Ledger concerning the Killen trial, laments, "the general population of Mississippi was so ignorant and bigoted that they would refuse to prosecute the crime of murder".  K K (?) goes on to state that for 40 years, she/he has been ashamed to say she/he was born in Meridian.

I'm sure that all Mississippians would agree with KK that they are also ashamed to say that she/he was born in Meridian.

While KK is praying "for continued wisdom and strength for the district attorney's office", she/he might oughta pray that no one researches her/his Meridian family history, a family of whom KK states, "never have I been ashamed of my family, because none of them would hurt another human being".

KK, I'd be prepared to "adjust" my halo.
