Still hooded

Former KKK Exalted Cyclops Robert Bird, in his new memoir, "Robert C. Byrd: Child of the Appalachian Coalfields" laments, "I apologized a thousand times ... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again," but he's particularly careful not to reveal that for which he is apologizing. But then, why fess up now when he has been and continues to be able to keep his KKK secrets under cloak for his entire political life.

The memoir, from cover to cover, reeks of a "cover," slyly "hooded" by historical alibis of old as he robes himself in his past typical mantra, "youthful indiscretion."

I guess you can take the boy out of the "hood" but you can't take the "hood" out of this boy.
