Subject: Letters Date: Sat, 15 Apr 2000 11:44:07 -0500 From: Armond C Simmons Organization: SIMMONSPORT To: Meridian Star Mississippi Gulf Coastians have reaped what they've sown. What more appealing setting for "Black Springbrawl 2000" than that of a community that has dealt with recent race relations problems in a servile, subservient, kowtowing, submissive, bootlicking and cowering manner. It's too late for the Gulf Coast to turn back the clock on their drastic mistake. They failed to recognize that each and every concession made by the city fathers and supported by the local media to race relations "demands" were, to the demanders, a form of overdue slavery restitution. Hopefully, other communities will learn from this. Sadly, there will be no turning back of "Black Springbrawl 2001". Any Johnny-come-lately efforts toward this end will be welcomed by this group and will be enthusiastically challenged by the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the folks that have the politically correct clout to make our nation cower. My advice? Get used to it.
