In a letter to The Clarion Ledger, "Guard units should have been protecting Miss., not Iraq", Sep 13, 2005, the mother of two National Guardsmen currently stationed in Iraq opined that,  "Had our own soldiers been in place with their equipment within a few miles of the Coast, we could have had a real first response to this tragedy."  She asks the President and Governor " to please bring our Guard troops home".
