It was stated in "Letters, faxes, and
e-mail", Monday, November 05, 2007, "In a recent Johns Hopkins University
study of high-school dropouts, 12 percent of the nation's schools graduated 60
percent or less of freshmen from 2004-2006."
Equally disturbing studies indicate that most
of those remaining students who graduate are not equipped with the knowledge
necessary to procure gainful employment -- except maybe as a
teacher and member of the NEA --
Hmm --
Could that be part of the problem?
