The New York
Times Business News, Feb 17, 2003 (By Jim
Rutenberg) reports that a group of wealthy
Democratic donors is planning to start a liberal radio network to counterbalance
the conservative tenor of radio programs like "The Rush Limbaugh
Show."
The group of venture
capitalists who have been major campaign donors for Bill Clinton and Al Gore, is
in talks with Al Franken, the comedian and author of "Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat
Idiot", to serve as a talk show host within the network
that will hopefully provide
that critical counterbalance.
To the listeners, Al Franken's appearance on the talk show
scene against Rush may just serve as an "On The Air" book review
of his book, "Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot", causing one to ask,
"Will the real idiot stand up".
