Victor Davis Hanson's article, "If We Fail", Jan 19, 2007 makes a valid case that after "coming home" from Iraq defeated, a concern will be that our nation won't be able to defend fledgling democracies
around the world in the future.

In all due respect for the well-documented concern and its detriment to our good-will efforts, I believe that the author's representation of that concern would be a God-sent, best-case scenario.

Contrarily, our nation's concern will be that of survival; that our nation won't be able to defend our own fledgling democracy, and our lives, from the same terrorist enemy, using more deadly weaponry and techniques, who caused our troops to "come home".
