Speak Out ... Double agents in the world
|
Agents of the devil have infiltrated the mighty Pentecostal Brigade in The Lord's Army. The highest levels of leadership have been compromised, and the waters of that Great Refreshing have been contaminated by the virus of the prosperity lie — that Christ suffered on the cross to bring us material wealth. These heralds of hell have gained control of many communications signals and use them to seduce multitudes by appealing to the greed and covetousness in the hearts of men. They build their fortunes and their religious empires with monies that should be going to the local church, as they attempt to insulate themselves from suspicion by calling their movements "faith" and by chanting "Jesus is Lord." They establish personality cult pseudo-churches to bolster their image and use them as religious money-laundering operations for their media ministries. They mock the sacrifices of the martyrs and corrupt the praises meant for an Almighty God and Savior who was born in a stable, who came to minister to "the least of these" and who came to show mankind the way to true eternal riches in Heaven. Are there no soldiers of the cross left who will cry out against this treachery? Are there no agents of the Lord Jesus Christ who will expose this damnable deception for what it is? Is there no longer a cause in Pentecost? Do they not know that Satan planted the lie within their ranks, because he saw there a great source of power, and his purpose was to neutralize and diminish that power? Mike Sutton
Re "Bible
as literature?" (Speak Out, Dec. 15): Letter writer R. Blair Scott wrote: "I became an
atheist by reading and studying the Bible. Perhaps with
the passing of this elective and book, Alabama schools
will create a lot more atheists."
Frankly, I don't question his assertion but I rather
doubt his assumption. Most atheists have become one, not
only by reading, but by hearing what the Bible says.
Once they learn that there are moral and ethical rules
which they must abide by in order to be pleasing in the
sight of an Almighty God, they immediately begin to
search for some way out, finding what they think are
discrepancies and errors. And when they find there
exists a fallacious alternative they accept it without
evidence.
I feel that it can have nothing but a positive effect
upon our students. They can at least learn about the
Bible and can begin to see that there is a more accurate
description of where man originated than just from
millions of tiny accidental changes from lifeless,
primordial soup. And never mind where it came from.
I do commend Mr. Scott; most atheists do not want
anything of a Biblical nature even mentioned. They know
there is more evidence and more common sense in it than
just accidents as their assumptions contend.
