Thanks to those who organized celebration

I would like to thank Kelly Smith and Connie Royal along with all those involved (they are too numerous to name) who helped put on the millennium celebration downtown.

I would also like to say a "great big thank you" to the City of Meridian for hosting the event.

Despite the rain, a good time was had by all and great memories were made.

Harry Mayer, chairman

Thanks to many, Decatur parade was a big success

On behalf of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the participants in the Decatur Christmas parade.

Our parade was a great success, which was a direct result of all the fine workers and entries in the parade.

A special thanks goes to David Griffin, Charles Walton, the Newton County High School Band, East Central Community College Band, each merchant and entry, Santa Claus, and Lamar Swanner, who graciously gave Santa a ride in the parade.

We sincerely appreciate everyone's help.

Jan Addy, president
Greater Decatur
Chamber of Commerce
