Racism claim rings hollow Denise Boggs' letter, "Racism remains menace today," states, "I was born and raised in the South and left 25 years ago because I couldn't stand the racism ..." Returning this year, she cites Montgomery's Great Seal which states, "Birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement" and "Cradle of the Confederacy" as evidence of continuing racism. I have a feeling that when Denise's visit ends, so will a modicum of racism in the South. Armond Simmons Pell City Letters should be no more than 250 words. Letters to the editor, opinion and editorial columns, and articles submitted to the Montgomery Advertiser may be published or distributed in print, electronic or other forms. All submissions are subject to editing.
