The letter, "We should have followed Patton's pattern in Iraq", April 18, 2005 would have been right on target, years ago.  But this masterful hindsight with which the administration has long ago agreed, need not be regurgitated ad nauseam.  Opining in the "we shudda", "we cudda", "we wudda" vein of distant times reeks of  "hand-wringing" upon which Gen Patton would frown - and more.
