From: "Armond "Si" Simmons" To: "BIRM Post Herald" Subject: Letters Date: Friday, September 27, 2002 7:26 PM Fast becoming as scandalous as the sodomite/pedophile criminal acts committed by catholic priests, historically known to the religious hierarchy but recently divulged to the public, are the morally offensive measures being employed by the same hierarchy to continue to obscenely and deceitfully provide criminal asylum to the pathetic offenders - all the while, piously expressing indignation at the acts. A recent "Conference of Major Superiors of Men" approved by a unanimous vote, called any priest accused of abuse "our brother". "He remains a member of our family." Well - "isn't that special?" I would assume a murderer "brother" would also remain a member of that big happy family. Of course, there are plusses for the church to the "perverted" decision: 1 - It will serve to slow the ebbing decline in clergy membership. 2 - It will serve as a valuable clergy recruitment tool as the church will continue to provide the last bastion of refuge for this refuse.
